BURNABY, BC, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Nicer Canada Corp. ("Nicer", "the Company") (TSXV: NC) today announces the sale of an IP-PBX call centre solution to Oceanic Trading Co. Inc. ("Oceanic"), parent company of well known sportswear manufacturers Champion Canada and Stormtech.
The new IP-PBX solution will significantly reduce communication costs between Oceanic''s Ontario and BC offices while improving service and flexibility at its call centre. As a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system, the IP-PBX solution makes every call within the company''s private branch exchange a local call and lets Oceanic manage the system themselves.
Oceanic customers had been experiencing long wait times on calls, resulting in substantial numbers of dropped calls - an unacceptable situation in a business in which 97% of sales depend on telephone contact, according to Lui Marciante, Oceanic''s IT Manager.
"Since implementing Nicer''s IP-PBX we have seen immediate results," said Marciante. "Our Customer Service Representatives no longer get complaints about long waits from customers and the result is increased our sales revenue. Nicer''s IP-PBX also lets us manage our own call queue and change our phone system settings ourselves rather than waiting for telephone service tech to come for any adjustments."
In addition to the IP-PBX, Nicer has provided Oceanic with a state-of-the-art fiber network through its subsidiary Glopex Networks, Inc., which provides integrated Internet Protocol (IP) based services and solutions for voice, video, security and global positioning systems. The fiber network ensures that Oceanic has highest quality transmission for both voice and data communications.
"With this private and managed fiber network, Oceanic Trading Inc. is well and truly covered by Nicer''s next generation data and voice network, said Paul Chen, Nicer CEO. "This Nicer solution gives Oceanic flexibility it grows while reducing long-term operation and maintenance costs.
About IP-PBX
An IP PBX is a private branch exchange (telephone switching system within an enterprise) that switches calls between VoIP users on local lines while allowing all users to share a certain number of external phone lines. An IP PBX employs converged data and voice networks, which enables Internet access, as well as VoIP communications and traditional telephone communications, via a single line to each user. An IP-PBX can also switch calls between a VoIP user and a traditional telephone user, or between two traditional telephone users in the same way that a conventional PBX does.
