SOLON, Ohio, May 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Energy Focus, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFOI - News), formerly Fiberstars, Inc. (Nasdaq: FBST - News), a global leader in energy efficient lighting, today announced that the White House China exhibit at the National First Ladies' Library in Canton, Ohio, has been illuminated by Energy Focus' EFO fiber lighting technology. The exhibit, Party Politics: Entertaining at the White House, opened April 3, 2007 and runs through March 28, 2008. The exhibit features fine china pieces, taken from a number of presidential administrations, typically chosen by the first lady.
Ideally suited for historical exhibits, among other applications, Energy Focus' EFO provides high quality light and energy savings without emitting heat to sensitive artifacts. The illuminated selection of china comes from Mr. and Mrs. Set Momjian's vast private collection of presidential china. Instead of blanketing the display with one level of light, EFO delivers the light directly onto each piece, allowing the polished china to be accentuated within the cabinetry.
"Lighting is particularly important to the preservation and aesthetics of showcasing these timeless objects and Energy Focus is pleased to participate in this prestigious exhibit," said Energy Focus CEO, John Davenport. "The project demonstrates Energy Focus' ability to provide superior spotlighting and dramatically improve the presentation of distinguished artifacts above other lighting technologies."
The National First Ladies' Library is a national archive devoted to educating people about the contributions of First Ladies and other notable women in United States history. Continually expanding, the collection includes over 5,000 books, 300 videos, and 800 personal artifacts of First Ladies, along with rotating special exhibits. These materials and exhibits reflect the significant contributions First Ladies have made to the social and cultural history of the United States.
"As we aim to create the highest quality display to accentuate the fine details and colors of the presidential china, we found that Energy Focus' lighting surpassed our expectations of color representation," said Michelle Gullion, National First Ladies' Archive Director. "We were delighted to find that Energy Focus could provide our historical artifacts with such delicate and elegant lighting."
The illumination of the historical exhibit is one in many of Energy Focus' portfolio of high profile historical preservation and exhibition projects including the lighting of the US Constitution, the Magna Carta, Clinton's Presidential Library and the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
